Day 4

Museum exhibit

Welcome to day 4 of the game; today is going to be exciting! Before continuing on, please make sure you have completed the following:

  • Completed Nook’s Cranny quest (it should be fully built by today)
  • Museum fully built

If you have not, please visit Day 3 for further guidance.

Tasks

Your first bridge

Bridge kit

  • Upon talking to Tom Nook, he will mention his desire to increase the population of the island. This is the beginning of the 3 Plots Quest. He will then give you a DIY Bridge Kit that you must craft and place. The bridge kit calls for:
  • 4 Log Stakes
  • 4 Stone
  • 4 Clay

Log Stakes are a DIY recipe Tom Nook added automatically to your DIY list, you’ll need 3 Wood to craft each one.

  • To place it, open your pockets and press on the kit while standing against the stretch of river you’d like it to go across. Note that placing bridges can be fickle, so you might need to try placing it a couple times. You also will have the option to “Imagine it”, which will show you a preview of what the bridge will look like when it’s built.

New villagers (3 plots quest)

  • After you place the bridge, speak to Tom Nook who will give you three plots to place. A plot is a section of land (4x4) that villager houses are built on. These cannot be moved for some time, so choose the plot placement wisely.
  • Additionally, he will give you new DIYs that are required for furnishing the plots, including your very own ladder! You can now ascend cliffs and can officially explore every inch of your island.

Furnishing the plots

  • For these plots you’ll need to prepare some items for the house before villagers can move into them.
  • You will find a box attached to the plots with a list of interior and exterior items you’ll need to craft.
    • Interior items go inside the box once crafted.
    • Exterior items need to be placed on the outside within two tiles of the front and sides of the plot.
  • Press on the box to see which items you need to craft.
  • Upon completion of the plots, talking to Tom Nook will prompt him to give you some fencing which can be used as decoration. You can also now trade in Nook Miles for different types of fencing recipes in the Nook Stop.

What else can I do today?

  • Nook’s Cranny and the museum should both be officially open! Swing by to check out what the Nooklings are selling, and head to the museum to see the things you’ve donated so far.
  • Mabel will introduce herself when you enter Nook’s Cranny for the first time. She is one of the owners of the Able Sisters’ tailor shop, where your character can buy new clothes. Visit here to see how to unlock the Able Sisters.
  • You can also invite villagers to come live in your plots, if you haven’t done so already. Just use a Nook Miles Ticket to find a villager.
